THE GRAPES HOTEL, is a 17th century "Coaching Inn", although an ancient cellar is known to date back to the 13th century. This Grade II Listed building, is chronicled in George Borrow's book "Wild Wales" where he entered ... "a magnificent parlour and partook of Brandy and water".

Other famous visitors from the past include the great statesman Lloyd George and Lilley Langtry who "took tea". It is believed that 'The Grapes' has ghosts... sometimes a little old lady in Victorian clothing is said to appear downstairs...just long enough to frighten the kitchen staff plumb rigid!

For nearly three centuries the Grapes has been renowned for it's Fine Ales and Homefare, warm Hospitality, and Accommodation which is still maintained to this day. The history of this great establishment is is alive in the unique atmosphere sensed when you enter - we truly hope you will, as others have before, .. "Vow to return"

The warmth of the pitch-pine pews and the heavily carved oak, mahogany and pitch pine bars, along with the exposed stone walls, adds to the unique atmosphere of 'The Grapes'. This together with the pleasure of a roaring log fire on wintery days will make your visit one to remember forever.

The relaxed atmosphere of 'The Grapes' will enhance the enjoyment of a wide choice of home cooked, mouth watering bar meals, daily specials and a good selection of fresh fish dishes.  We use local produce wherever possible. The famous 'Grapes Ribs' are a must - once eaten, forever smitten.  Meals are served in both bars, the verandah and our non-smoking room. Children are always welcome at 'The Grapes' having their own 'Twrogs Menu'

Whilst 'The Grapes' is first and foremost a 'pub' it does offer letting bedrooms. All are an suite with colour TV's and tea/coffee making facilities. Further accommodation is available in 'The Old Brew House' which has recently been refurbished to a high standard and is situated to the rear of the main hotel. There are two self-contained en suite units which can sleep 4 guests - Ideal for Families.
