The season starts on both Lakes Padarn and Cwellyn on 3rd March.
Fishing this early is usually from the bank, with catches being made initially from Padarn.
Favourite areas is the eastern shore, being the lakeside railway side.

The fish this early are silvery in colour, but are easily distinguished from the
silvery brown trout which abound in both lakes.
The charr of course sports a very pronounced forked tail.
