Aiming to work with young children (0 - 7 years)? We can offer you the training and work place experience you require to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
The qualification we offer lead to careers in schools (classroom assistants); play groups; childminding and charitable community services. Awarded by CACHE (Council for Awards in Children’s Care and Education - formerly N.N.E.B. and C.E.Y.A.).
The qualification chosen would reflect the setting in which you work, while training is delivered both in the workplace and "off the job" in one of our locally based training centres.
QUALIFICATIONS AT LEVEL 2 INCLUDE:
8 Mandatory Units
Unit C1 - Support children’s physical development needs.
Unit C4 - Support children’s social and emotional development.
Unit C8 - Implement planned activities for sensory and intellectual development.
Unit C9 - Implement planned activities for the development of language and communication skills.
Unit E1 - Maintain an attractive, stimulating and reassuring environment for children.
Unit E2 - Maintain the safety and security of children.
Unit M3 - Contribute to the achievement of organisation requirements.
Unit P1 - Relate to parents.
2 Optional Units - These should reflect the opportunities that are available in different aspects of child care.
Unit C12 - Feed.
Unit C13 - Provide for babies physical development needs.
Unit M1 - Monitor, store and prepare materials and equipment.
Unit P9 - Work with parents in a group
Unit CU10 - Contribute to the effectiveness of work teams
QUALIFICATION AT LEVEL 3 INCLUDE:
Level 3 qualifications are designed for those in Supervisory or Junior Management roles. The qualification deals with child care in more depth than Level 2. The candidate will need to develop skills which will enable him/her to plan, prepare, implement and evaluate activities for young children.
