This qualification is being offered at Level 1 only at present.
This gives the opportunity for candidates who work mainly in the Care Sector to obtain a relevant qualification at their level of ability.
In the Care Sector in Gwynedd, many jobs are for 'Domestics' and 'Domestic/Carers'. Therefore, we feel that this qualification will enhance the trainees ability to gain employment. The candidates are also supported with Communication Skills in both English and Welsh.
They are given the opportunity of taking part in group sessions for trainees following the Level 2 in Care. This also gives the Assessor an indication of how they are progressing on the 'Care' aspect of their job role and after discussions with employers, it may be possible for trainees to progress to the full Care Award at Level 2.
