The Amateur Instrument Maker

Over the years many people have enquired about making instruments. To satisfy this need we have published a number of plans to help them. The plans are full scale 1/1 and show the maker everything that is required for the fabrication of the instument that interests him or her. Each set of plans is printed on twelve sides of A2 coated paper and help with a ring binder so preventing the problem of loose sheets everywhere.

1. Uilleann Pipes pitched in D.

(Leo Rowsome circa 1936)

2. Uilleann Pipes pitched in C.

(Michael Egan circa 1840)

3. Scots Small Pipes in 4 different pitches

Flute Plans

4. Set of plans for keyless concert, Eb 8 keys, Concert 8 keys and two Baroque flutes.

5. C# set after Maurice Coyne at the publishers.

6. Bb set after Michael Egan in the process of being drawn up. Eventually I hope to increase the number of plans to cover Baroque classical instruments such as Oboes, Bassoons and Recorders etc.

We are currently working on a plan set containing four great English Flutes from the mid 19th Century.
