What does it look like?

The season starts on both Lakes Padarn and Cwellyn on 3rd March. Of the two lakes Padarn should be fished first. From this early start Charr are fished for from the bank. Favourite areas being the eastern shore, being the lakeside railway side.

The fish at this time are very silvery, but are easily distinguished from the silvery brown trout which abound in both lakes. As the season progresses into August, charr starts to take on it's Autumn colouring - this is when it is the most stricking game fish in these islands.
